The only surfers at the beach today were the Santana groms… the youngest is 9 and the oldest 14 years old. From left to right: Estiven, Tony, Gerson,Tomasito, Brandon, Randy and Jhon.
The kids were already done with their surf session but I asked them if it was possible to get back in the water so I could take photos of them… they didn’t hesitate and went back out.
They have to take turns with the surfboards because they only have 4 boards between all of them.
Randy is one of the oldest and he has a good backside bottom turn.
Here is Estiven on a Head high wave… this kid won first place on the last surf competition a few weeks ago here at Santana.
Estiven is one of the youngest of the crew but he is the ripper, he is the only one that goes out when is big here at Santana.
While they wait for their turn they play pretty much everything on the sand… fighting, wrestling, throwing sand at each other, making jokes and laghing from all the wipe out of his friends surfing.
It’s all about having fun with your friends!
Tony is the most stylish of the group in and out of the water… he always have a nice hair cut trying to look cool.
And talking about looking cool… there was a kitesurfer having a great time with the strong winds.
But definitely there is nothing cooler than being a surfer, right?
Now that I finally learned the names of all these kids I’ll try to take more photos of them, who knows, maybe one of them become a pro surfer and NSR will be the place to go to find photos for his biography/documentary. Cheers!

Hey amigos! Welcome to Friday’s surf report from Colorados. The swell was very big as forecasted, but it didn’t really hit the sandbars appropriately. Still some big drops and adrenaline rushes.
Hey everyone! Welcome to Thursday evening’s surf report from Colorados. It was a bit of a “stand-up contest” this evening, but the power should return tomorrow. Still surfable, but we are suffering from the recency bias haha.
Hey amigos! Josh here for the next few days. Welcome to April 1st’s surf report from Colorados. The surf was on its dying breaths today, but there were still a few good sets and pulses sprinkled throughout the day. The mid-day window had insane sun, so there were very few surfers out.
FROM THE ARCHIVES
Whatup guys. Better late than never eh? Kevin here with today’s report. There’s really no other way to put it, Playa Colorado was firing today. I guess you could say the first solid swell of the season hit yesterday and into today. It was messy and disorganized, and the sandbar isn’t quite 100% finished, but..
