Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, March 07, 2012

Whatup, whatup y'all. It doesn't happen all that often, but when we got up and hit the beach this morning we were greeted with borderline flat conditions. For those of you keeping score it was proabably in the knee to waist high range when they were comin' in, wind has been, and still is, blowing really hard offshore. Water is chilly, though not as cold as it has been. There were no takers when we checked it, but Anthony and the boys from SF and SD are in town, so I am sure they got a few when the tide came in.

There's a brigade of 100+ doctors down from the US right now providing volunteer medical care to the surrounding communities. Here are a couple early risers heading off to work. Right on guys, your efforts are appreciated.

We took advantage of surf "down" day to make our way out to the Capital city, Managua, to run some errands and relocate in anticipation of waves we think might be on the way in the next day or two. This prototypical Central American image just never gets old.

Harvest is now in NIcaragua, fresh fruit and veggies aplenty. More roadside sights on the way to Managua.

Finally to our destination lovely Managua greets us with the splendor of Carretera Masaya and the all the traffic and billboards that decorate her. "We got a big Manags day, you know. We'll be hittin SINSA, then swing by MetroCentro before stopping in at La Colonia and finally hit PriceSmart on the way outa town. Oh wait and big ups to Ratatouille Bistro for the bomb lunch! If you don't know now you know.......  This not-a-surf report has been brought to you by Carlos Caliente and Juan "el duende" Bustos.

Waves on the way, so stay tuned.
