Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, March 02, 2009

Hi and thanks for joining us for the Monday surf report.  Today we drove up to the beach right before dark one more time.  The waves were running about chest to head high on sets with offshore winds and the water was chilly.  Check it out!!!

There were some killer waves to be had all over the place.  A couple of international surfers were out taking advantage and scored some really good waves.  Here we have this unknown rider setting up to get shack.

A few of the best local surfers were out ripping on every single wave that came through.  Here we have a shot of “La Baloy” tearing up the lip of this right.

Here we have another unknown rider on this sweet looking left.  We had plenty of good and fun waves to be ridden this afternoon.  The waves were not that big today but they had really good shape.

“La Bestia” Granolita wanted to be part of the action so he paddled out and destroyed a couple of nice sizeable waves.  Check him out going big on this wave.  He’s getting ready to defend his junior title in the upcoming Central American Surf Contest at Playa Roca in Salvador the next month.

Our very own Carlitos Calientito was able to catch many fun waves this afternoon.  Here he is styling with his natural backside set up to get shack into this right.

“La Gaviota” Chamorro was showing us his surfing skills as well.  Fortunately the jellyfishes went away and the water warmed up a little bit, so everybody stayed out for a while enjoying the good surf.  Nice move Gaviota!!!

Alright folks, the waves should be fun for tomorrow so stay tuned with us.
