Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, February 26, 2009

Welcome guys to the Thursday surf report, here we have “Lucha Libre” and “Come Pan” bringing you all the surf action from out here at the most popular beach around town.  This afternoon we went to Playa Maderas to score some waves, it was chest to shoulder high on sets with offshore wind, the water was chillier than normal and the jellyfishes were out of control.  Check out the lineup!!!

Today we drove to the beach with some locals but when we got up there we found a lot of jellyfishes all over to the place preventing some surfer to enjoy the waves because they couldn’t be in the water for a long time.  On the first surf shot we have “La Baloy” who wasn’t worry about jellyfishes.  Here he is showing us how to keep away from the jellyfish with this front side air.

The chilly water and the jellyfishes were a little problem for the surfers that wanted to paddle out today.  “Carlos Calientes” didn’t have any problem with them because all he wanted to do was to have fun and get some waves.  Here he is with the second surf shot of the day taking off on this nice looking left.

We got a nice shot of “La Gaviota” with a nice back ground at Machete Pt.  “La Gaviota likes to surf by himself so he was far away from the crowd.  As you can see in this shot, he was enjoying this wave with this cool floater.

We also had some unknown riders taking a few waves and having a really good time for a couple minutes.  Here we caught this guy on this nice left looking for the good moment to get into the shack.  Nice one man!!!!

Today we had a few of Skate action as well, Rex “La Bestia” Granolita decided to keep out of the chilly water and jellyfishes.  Here he is showing us his skill on this little board.  Here we have this shot as a proof.

Rex wasn’t the only guy that had a really good time skateboarding today. Besides we had Mike doing some difficult and dangerous maneuvers all over the place on this ramp.  Here we have a couple shots of this sick trick.  This guy is one of the best skateboarder from Canada and now he is in Nicaragua promoting another interesting sport down here.

Here he is showing us how he claims it.  Nice move buddy.  The waves should be fun tomorrow so be sure to check us back out.  If you are staying in town so be sure to make it out to the beach and score some shoulder high waves with offshore winds, hopefully the jellyfishes are gone tomorrow.
