Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, February 25, 2010

What’s up folks?  We are the NSR family bringing you one more time all the action for this Thursday surf report.  Today we went to the beach in the morning with the NSR team trying to score some shots, and the winds are back Offshore!.  The waves were super fun, running about chest to shoulder high on sets.  Check out the lineup!!!

You might have heard that Nicaragua experienced an earthquake last night....and we did.  It was a minor quake and there was no reported damage, most people (like me) didn't even feel it.  I guarantee you this international surfer didn't feel it.  He's just happy to be riding a fun little nugget like this after a couple of onshore days.

In case you are curious, here's the offical report on the quake:

MANAGUA, Nicaragua -- A moderate 5.9-magnitude earthquake has struck off Nicaragua's southern Pacific coast.

The U.S. Geological Survey says Wednesday's quake occurred around 9:15 p.m. (0315 GMT). It says the temblor was centered about 65 miles (100 kilometers) south of Managua, the Nicaraguan capital.

Managua residents say the quake was barely felt in the city. The Nicaraguan Institute of Territorial Studies says there were no immediate reports of victims or damages.

The USGS says the quake was about 26.5 miles (42.6 kilometers) beneath the surface.

Here we have “El Tuzo” Morales he took ride with us this morning.  He was catching some good waves today.  Look at him ripping on top of this little nugget.

This is Heather “Hace Quesos” she was trying to catch some waves out there.  She looks super stoked because she can catch some shots.  Here she is dropping in on this sweet left hander.

Today we had a few local guys in the water trying to get some fun waves.  Here we have “El Friki” with this cool aerial maneuver.

On this shot we have our very own “Pancho Sanchez” he was ripping all over the place.  Check him out on this little wave showing us the sticker NSR on his board and t-shirt.

The lineup was very crowded today at all, we had about 20 or 25 surfers out.  This Jose “El Corage” perro cobarde dropping in on this sweet left, one of the better waves that we had today.

On the last shot of the day we have this beautiful photo about how busy was the lineup today.  Alright folks that’s all for today.  We hope have some fun waves tomorrow.  Please check back with us.
