Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, February 20, 2022

Brian Scott

Happy Sunday Funday all of our friends around the world! Today was definitely a wait for the last light kind of day, because the winds were are lady howling before the sun even came up this morning. That and combined with the extreme differences in tides (the super high in the morning and really low pretty much all day and the tide going high again in the late afternoon.. the evening ended up being the best call today!  Jump on in and check out some of todays highlights!

Oscar was already out there ripping (with his full suit on mind you!) a lot of the peeps out there were rocking the neoprene. I don’t blame them either. When I jus put my feet to my shins in the water, it felt freezing! Haha shows how acclimate we really are here!

Brian Scott

A lot of really fun ripping and actually super decent waves were happening this afternoon.

This is Jeff…. zooming by while his son Casey watches his pop having the time of his life out there surfing with his son (both of which have been super mega big fans of the NSR report for decades!) Jeff’s been coming here sine 2004. . . . Huge Mahalo for the awesome complements today with our little chat before your paddled out too by the way!

And here’s Casey (Jeff’s son, on one of the many sequences I got of him today). He’s actual been coming here and married into a Nicaraguan familia from Masaya all the way back in 1998. Talk about seeing A LOT of changes for this gold mine of a country!

Jeff . . . this cold Nica classic is for YOU buddy!!!!

I met quite a few folks out there tonight actually. Here’s Mark visiting all the way from Vancouver. Hence why you don’t see him wearing anything but boardshorts! Once again, I met another amigo from the way up North, who says this water is like bathwater jajajaja!

Oscar on one of his super sick moves and last waves of the day! Looks like he dropped his wallet & his mochila (jaja), heck I think he laid back and dropped everything into this dope turn! Sick one chavalol!

Brian Scott

Papa Nam cutting right through this would be close out section and YES!…. he did come out of this sick maneuver clean and landed it and rode out with ease! Yeah brother, that’s how it’s done!

And that’s the last light to our fantastic super fun Sunday report! Lets start the week off right tomorrow and, first hope for some more swell in the water (as if we haven’t been blessed and graced enough already so far this season, but I’ll be out there checking the waves throughout the day… so I hope to see you out there; and if you’re living vicariously through the online reports. I hope to see you al back here again mañana too!!! Dale pues y buenas noches ~
