Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, February 18, 2008

Today we finally have some swell in the water so everybody made it out even with the cold water. It's running about chest to head high on sets and the wind is offshore. There were some jellyfish around but nobody was worried about them because everybody was scoring some fun waves today. Check it out.

Couple ladies paddled out there today and were charging some size sets. Here we have Ashley "La Cenicienta" Blaylock taking a nice right. Hey Ashley, we have sweet shot to show you later!!!

Here is Rodolfo "Calibilly" Zapata taking off on a sweet left. Today Lucha and I were hiking around to get this kind of shots. On our way up we found some snakes but there were so fast to take them some pics.

How about "El Tuzo" Morales with this cool shot took it from the hills. This guy is improving really fast his maneuvers.

Here is a shot of the scene on the beach from a nice perpestive. Come Pan was hiking all over the trees to get it and he almost fall down but we are safe now, don't worry about us!!!

We'd like to give a special shoot out to our friends from New York. They are here having a good time on the beach and today decided to learn how to surf with us. Here is a shot of the whole family posing on the beach to make it on. They are David Goldberg, his wife Patty Nasey and his little daughter Mara Goldberg.

Here is a shot of Mara riding a nice one. This is the first time she takes a board and she rode some good ones. Can you believe it? She is only 9 years old. We want to say thanks so much to her father (David Goldberg) for his help to send the Nica Crew to the upcoming contest in Panama the next month. By the way guys, we are still needing your help!!!

Young Rex "La Bestia" Calderon was able to paddled out today and practice some maneuvers. Here he is smacking the lip on a closed out left.

Have you ever seem a horse family getting a sweet wipe out? Here is "El Garanon" Blanco about to get a free massage on the bottom.

Here is Marlon "El Shaggy" Aburto trying to get into a nice right backside barrel. He still remenber his best time when he was young everytime he rides some good waves.

Many people spend the day on the beach with some friends, family, boy-girlfriend but this is a peculiar thing we have to mention today. Check out this drunk guy walking with his boogieboard pet on the beach

Augusto "La Gaviota" Chamorro has been working hard to get more control of his maneuvers. Now he's trying to add a new move to his repertory, here he is going big with a backflip aerial. Never give up buddy, some day you are going to make it if you keep trying!!!

Here is "Carita de Venado" with his casual dress taking a nice left. More waves on tap for tomorrow.
