Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, February 12, 2019

Brian Scott

Happy Tuesday everyone! Well, The good news is we have some of our first really nice juicy swell in the water for the year. The downside, even though I got up at the crack of dawn to go see how nice our new swell was looking and snap some pics, by the time I got home to start editing my report, the power went out. So, I was reminded that no matter how well you plan things; not everything goes your way.

Brian Scott

Surprisingly when I got down to the water, there was only one person out. Mr. John Gillem.

Brian Scott

Only a person or two down at the reef, but I really wanted to make a report from our most beloved and favorite beach break for you today.

Brian Scott

I mean, if you walked over the sand to see this with no-one out, wouldn’t you be running?!?!

Brian Scott

John G, with all of the waves all to himself.

Brian Scott

Picturesque, indeed. Makable, depends on who you are and what you ride.

Brian Scott

John has a hot pocket every morning, or tries to. But this ain’t the super market kind.

Brian Scott

You will never know the feeling of a photographer vs. being a surfer when you see just one more person paddle out; even if you have the entire lineup to yourself. For me, it’s a great big YEY! For most surfers, it’s ahhhh damn, are you seriously gonna paddle out right here????? WTH

Brian Scott

Haha - although in this case, I know John was psyched to see his local amigo Lesther coming out to enjoy and partake in the tranquillo morning session.

Brian Scott

Just Lesther and John, my only two surfers to shoot for todays surf report.

Brian Scott

Its a win - win for all three of us! Here’s John… WINNING the right way!!!! (pun intended)

Brian Scott

How you think all spiral stair cases are installed in Nicaragua?? Via the beach, of course!!

Brian Scott

If you ever see Lesther pull back from a wave…. there is always legitimately a very good reason.

Brian Scott

Ohhhh, mmmhmmmm… that’s a pretty darn good reason.

Brian Scott

Not a huge one, but a small fine example of one that Lesther approves of.

Brian Scott

And to end with an alley oop kick out just makes my Two for Tuesday surf report all that more special!

Brian Scott

Alright my surfing friends. Glad I was able to give you some munch needed refreshing imagery from one of your favorite surf breaks in Nica-Land. Let’s hope this continuing swell sticks around with the same if not better conditions. See ya here again mañana.  Saludos ~
