Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, February 12, 2011

Hi folks, this is Lucha Libre Garcia bringing you the Saturday surf report.  Today I had to drive up north to pick up and drop and couple of our rental boards, so I took advantage on that and drove a couple local surfers with me to score some fun waves with this swell first light in the morning.  It was over head on sets, with nice offshore winds and the water just a little chilly.  Check it out!!!

There were some sick waves rolling in when we first got there and nobody was out.  Check out this one rolling in with no taker.

Immediately we saw a set, all the guys paddled out to ride a couple good ones but Codo had to make his ritual to be lucky in the water.  That’s what he thinks!

It seems that the ritual worked out pretty well.  Here is Codo working on his backside style on this sweet looking left.

Later on, a few other guys made it out and were able to score.  Here is caught this unknown rider getting into a nice pocket.

We don’t know this guy either but he caught some really good ones.  Actually we have a killer sequence of this barrel, too many photos to post.  Here is one of the better shots of the sequence.

A couple of heavy ones came through and Oliver was there and tried to get some of them.  Here he is about to be kissed by that sweet lip.

We left and headed out to another spot, hopping to score more fun waves.  Here is Oliver snapping this wave right in the pocket.

Sometimes if you bother a bull could be dangerous but it could be even more if you bother a couple.  Check out this local kid running away for his life.

Juan “La Mosca” De la Perra made the trip with us and was doing the best to get a nice shot to post on the report.  Here he is going big with a cool frontside air.

We packed up our stuff and move to another spot and this is what we found.  Do you think it was firing?

Pedro “El Cacaste” Flores going high to get more speed on this left.  This kid was more than excited to take a ride with us because he doesn’t get to surf these spots very often.

Our very good friend D-lite got back a couple days ago from the states, that means that he hasn’t surf in a while.  He made it out and did the best to score some good ones.  Here he is bottom turning a nice sized set.

The sequence of the day goes to La Bestia Calderon with an amazing maneuver.  Shot 1, getting ready to attack the lip!

Shot 2, right in the pocket!

Shot 3, there is no more to say than whoooooooo!!!

Shot 4, air dropping!

Shot 5, is he going to pull it?

Shot 6, yes he did it!!!

This lady was enjoying the action from the beach.  The swell is supposed to drop a little bit tomorrow so stay tuned with us!
