Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, February 08, 2018

Brian Scott

Hey there everyone, welcome to the Thursday surf report. We had a pretty good jump in swell today and it’s supposed to be building throughout the evening into tomorrow. Here’s what it looked like today.

Brian Scott

Still not quite there for Colorados, as you can see these guys are opting for the reef!

Brian Scott

The winds were super strong today, but the energy out there made up for the overly strong winds. You just needed to be in the “right” spot, unlike these two guys, unfortunately.

Brian Scott

The waves were super consistent, but the bigger sets were what everyone here was trying to get into.

Brian Scott

It was still super fun looking with all kinds of long rides with a ton of turns to work on.

Brian Scott

Like my buddy Leo, here. Sick turn Hermano!!!

Brian Scott

My other amigo Colin skipped on the fast un-makable tubes down at the sand bars and thought he’d have better luck down where I was.

Brian Scott

Looks like it was a pretty good call!

Brian Scott

Colin’s got style for days… especially since he usually rides a twin fin (I should say ripping on a twinny) and no leash mind you.

Brian Scott

There was one chica out there representing. Looks like she’s about to get a backwash tubo!

Brian Scott

Well, ok there were a few other chicas out, but how nice would it be to just hang with your BFF playing in the surf with a cocktail in hand while the sun starts to set. Looks like a pretty fun time!!

Brian Scott

The swell models said it was increasing later today so I think it’s safe to say that the they were pretty right on for this new swell.

Brian Scott

Some other rippers out there tackling the super fun long lefts all afternoon.

Brian Scott

My other buddy Fernando from Brazil dropping into an outside bomb. These guys have been coming here for a while, so they know how well the entire NSR crew takes good care of them year after year!

Brian Scott

Looks exactly how those pelicans fly along the waves.

Brian Scott

Like I said, so many turns today. I counted at least 4 to 5 really good turns form each surfer coming in my direction on all the lefts.

Brian Scott

By the time I made my way back towards the other side of the beach, about to head home, some of the bigger sets were starting to reel through.

Brian Scott

Here’s our very own Señor Kevin Huang taking off on a really sick green wall right. I am frothing to see how good it is tomorrow morning!!

Brian Scott

Okie dokie friends… I’ll be out there early in the morning tomorrow shooting, so if you’re here and wanna make the surf report look for me at either one of the local breaks here. Hope to see ya out there!!! Yewwwww ~ ~ ~
