Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, February 07, 2022

Brian Scott

Hola chicos!~ Welcome to another week of fun in the sun and empty (well practically empty) waves with beautiful nice warm weather. . . . AND your favorite beach break was working today, so it was a nice little break from the reef up the road. Enjoy your Monday surf report from Nica-Land!

Brian Scott

Only a hand full of peeps out… and one chica.

Brian Scott

But she was taking full advantage of the somewhat empty lineup.

Brian Scott

Wes on one of the few well overhead waves out there. Most of the surf was in the waist to head high. The occasional overhead sets would come in from time to time…. BUT we’re expecting some really good new swell around midweek! Yiippeeeee!!!

Brian Scott

Half mystery barrel surfer jajaja

Brian Scott

Ricky on a nice clean take off on this super green right! The water color has changed due to the temperature change with the water cooling off quite a bit.

Brian Scott

It’s like a red tide, but the only thing red hot was Ricks surfing today….

Brian Scott

He was killing it on every wave he took!

Brian Scott

It was pretty racy and fast out there, but the photo ops and morning light was impeccable.

Brian Scott

Lenny on a super frothy sand churned up drainer. Yeah Len!!!

Brian Scott

Uhhhhh-Ohhhhh!!!

Brian Scott

That’s ok, you see this hombre was riding like a Kai Lenny type of SUP- super high performance, short and fast, so he knew what he was doing out there.

Brian Scott

Felt pretty nice to be back at my favorite wave to shoot. I’m sure everyone, especially like Guido Joachim here, who comes and stays and surfs with his wife a lot. (btw she is the gal pictured earlier) :)

Brian Scott

As you can see, they both love this wave and surf it well!

Brian Scott

Far bar right (which is actually where the river mouth is flowing into the ocean right now) was delivering up some pretty nice fun peaks as you can see.

Brian Scott

And some sick little ramps for air’s too!

Brian Scott

Super weird, but not a single person was up at the reef today. Maybe earlier, like first light. But this pretty much solidified my only option for shooting today that is was gonna be at the beachie.

Brian Scott

I think this is Guy (from Isreal) its hard to tell, because the morning light has the surfers (subjects) backlit, but he’s been ripping every day up at the reef. I bet it was nice for him to be able to surf Colorados today.

Brian Scott

PC’s infamous steep and deep take off zone! I wonder what it’s gonna look like come Wednesday???

Brian Scott

My last and final parting surf shot had to go with Rick Ruzzamenti getting slotted on his super Panga Long Board. Yeaaaaaah Ricky!

Brian Scott

Oki doki my favorite folki! That’s a wrap for Mondays surf report. Let’s see how this swell progresses over the next couple days. Should be firing here soon….. Maybe our first decent/legit swell of 2022!!!! Yewwww ~
