Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, February 01, 2017

What’s up everybody!? This is Parker checking in to kick off a fresh month of surf reporting. Thanks for tuning in and check out the fun morning shots!

How would you like to wake up to calm offshores, blue water, and fun chest to shoulder high surf? Well, if we are going to honestly report on today’s conditions, the water is a bit chilly (a 1 mil top is perfect) and the offshores kick in from 10am to 2pm.

I guess that proposition didn’t sound too awful for Mateo. Him and his friend were on it early when the sun was rising.

Normally, this muchacho is a tubo maestro. During the offseason, he changes gears and shows off his rail game. We are both anxiously awaiting for the barrels to return in mid March to April. If it’s a short offseason, only a few more weeks!!

Keep your eye on the inside section. A couple moody sneakers sometimes slipped through the cracks.

A couple of us photographers need to step it up and take care of Josh Springfield. He surfs well and has great social media content but the babes are waiting for some new material. He’ll start shining like Mateo once the tubes come back.

While the reef was small and playful, he carved up the inviting faces. Springfields, thank you for the cake!! I ate it all yesterday so I need to get out there with your son and burn some calories too.

If you’re coming here during the slow season, you can expect these kind of fun conditions. I’ve only been here for almost two years but I’m still shocked at the wave consistency here. Maybe it’s my East Coast roots, but I’m still stoked that I can always find a wave whenever I want to paddle out.

Negrini from Playa Jaco is spending some time with Mateo. This guy is a well rounded goofy foot shredder. He’s only here for a little longer to say hi and share some love with him while he’s around.

He isn’t sharing too much love on that wave’s face though.

Negrini, what do you think about helping the local boys fine tune their air game? Maybe you can help me lose 100 pounds so I can seamlessly air between sections?

Even when there are a few people out there, the multiple peaks spread out the lineup. Regardless, you might get sprayed in the face by more than the offshores.

Changing gears for a couple more shots, we’ve had some gorgeous mornings. Even though we live in Nicaragua, we still need to unplug from the technology and craziness in the world. However, I took one for the team today, and brought the camera so we could show you guys a couple quick shots!!

We are known for our sunsets but the sunrises are still peaceful and beautiful. Find a hill or mountain and watch the sun illuminate the horizon. What else do you have going on at this hour during your vacation???

Alright damas and caballeros, the tide is getting right and the day’s work is coming to end. I’ll ask you again, what else do you have going on at this hour during your vacation??? Vamos a surfer!!! Thank you all for checking out today’s shots and keep your eye on the report for a weekend bump. Hasta luego amigos!!
