Just like it’s been the same the last couple of days…. check it early and its small… like super small; and then by afternoon and the high tide push the waves grow. They grew so much that this poor little guy’s fun of what was supposed to be a fun learning sesh turned into what (to him & only I can imagine) what us older people think of when we see those big guys in the wrong places like JAWS, MAVS or the newly heavily charged wave Nazaré in Portugal. Tough little grom got worked, but he came out ok and will be ready to go harder on his next time out. Jump back on that horse little dude!

Not sure who this flaco new comer to the beach is, but he’s my new favorite little gremmy! Just check out the surf stoke on his lit up little face!

I think this is the most packed I’ve seen the reef in the new year. That’s a good sign though. Means the surfers are around. They’ve just been hiding in other places.

Stoked to have been seeing my buddy Vin Diesel all week. I’ve earned a new respect for him as a waterman after I saw him cast fishing from the playa from his beach front home. Yeah braddah!

Texture’s are cool…. This one in particular has been a new transplant to our beach flowing from who knows where from the long distance inland jungle rivers since those last hurricane heavy rains; and it’s been here ever since.

El Pozo is having an amazing party tonight with professional dancing girls, drinks, food and of course the always epic atmosphere prepared by Señor Wilfredo himself and his crew! Get on over there tonight if you’re looking for something really fun to do on this Saturday night!

Check out how much height alone that high tide push and backwash was giving some of those late afternoon golden waves! I wish I had a photo to compare to this morning, but trust me is was barely breaking shin high.

It was like a surfing playground out there today in the tardy PM. Jackson again lighting up each and every wave he paddles into!

This is a rad little sequence of this grom, as he literally drove from the far outside pumping and pumping for what I thought was gonna be just a little check turn into the closeout, or little punt-air or something other than this.

Well if you weren’t surfing you were fishing and if you weren’t doing either of the two, and you were at the beach you definitely were in the best place to be as that sun dropped into the sea! Ok, I’ll SEE ya’ll tomorrow…. you in??? Chao 4 now ~
