Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, January 23, 2010

We want to start the day with this amazing picture of Ben “Nacho Mamas” Hubeck’s truck.  This truck was wrecked last weekend by two of the local surfers “Pedro and Chulin”.  Luckily they didn’t get hurt but now they have to work something out to fix it and give it back to Nacho!  You guys have to be very very carful in the future.

Today we headed out to the beach in the morning hoping to catch some fun waves and we did.  The waves were super fun, running about waist to chest high on sets with nice light offshore winds.  Check out the lineup!!!

Part of the nsr family was able to paddle out, and score some really fun ones.  We are going to start the report with Hace Quesos putting some skills on her bottom turn style.

Super Cana was watching the action from the beach when we first got to the beach.  Hey Canita, it looks like we have some fun ones coming in, so you better paddle out and ride some good ones as well.

Right before we made it to the beach we dropped Pancho at the bay in San Juan del Sur and he paddled his giant paddle board all the way to the surf.  Check him out picking up one of the better set waves of the day.

Randy “El Bambino” was already on the beach when we got there, and he was catching some real nice ones.  Here he is caught riding this sweet right hander.

We had a few locals out ripping on every single wave they caught.  This is Larry “Carita de Venado” Davila going big with nice off the top move.  Where you’ve been my friend?  We are glad to see you out once again!

Super Cana finally made it out on his short and long softtop.  He was getting shacked a couple times on that thing or at least that’s what he thought.  Here he is caught on this shot with a sick head dip.

Later on, Pancho switched to the softtop and got some really nice looking waves.  Here he is showing us how to get barreled on a 9’4’’ softtop.  That would be a killer one on a shortboard, uh!

On the last shot of the day we have Augusto “La Gaviota” Chamorro busting a nice frontside air.  Alright folks, that’s all for today.  Please check us back out tomorrow!
