Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, January 21, 2017

Buenos Dias a todos!  It’s another warm, sunny, beautiful day here on the mighty Pacific.  The ocean is calm, but of course, if you want to get a few waves they are there!

There was nobody in sight out there this morning, except these two guys, who were just chilling in the water and doing some body surfing.

Calm winds and low tide made for a great morning to cruise the beach on a bicycle… Since the action down at the beach is minimal today we are going to take the rest of today’s report to the camino!

We hopped on a couple of motos and headed out, destination, the new riviera market just outside the Hacienda Iguana development. First, parker wanted to stop and say hi to his buddies! You can rent these same bikes right from the NSR shop and get a good dose of the nearby roads and trails!

This is what you see when you pull into the parking lot for the market. A great place to enjoy a cold ice cream and take a little stroll!

It’s great to have some more food and drink selections so close by!  Would you go for the light and healthy fruit or the dark, delicious, penguinos?!?!

As soon as we walked in parker filled his arms with goods! I think he just runs a tab here!

The produce selection was pretty nice… Fresh, ripe, fruits and veggies, in case you are missing a little something it’s a perfect stop for some cooking essentials.

I thought this was neat! Local, craft beers from our friend Chris Harrison at Campo Beers, and local organics from Salad Steve! The pesto is fantastic! I have not had the pleasure of enjoying one of the local beers…not yet!

What do you want to see at the local market when you’re vacationing on the beach? How about some Nicaraguan rum and some tasty helados! Thanks to Ivan Saballos and Daniel Snider for letting us have some fun in the store. Riviera market is located 2 minutes south of the Hacienda Iguana entrance and is open everyday from 8:30 am - 8:00 pm, stop in next time you’re passing by and check them out!

Fresh milk is on tap just outside the market on the way home! That’s one happy calf!

This big, handsome guy was cruising the road behind a whole herd of his heifers. I’m talking about el torro, not Parker!

“Hey could you guys share some of that ice cream you just picked up at the market?” Thanks for tuning in today everyone! What will tomorrow’s surf report bring us? Check back tomorrow and we’ll be here! Hasta Pronto amigos!
