Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, January 17, 2011

We had lot of sick waves this morning at Mr. Brown’s favorite spot.  The waves were super fun running about chest to head high with a couple over head waves on sets, the wind was offshore and the water was a little chilly.  Check it out!!!

We drove up north to drop a couple rental boards off and we took advantage on the trip to score some sweet ones.  When we arrived to this spot Carlitos Calientes was already out and he was sharing the lineup with one local kid.  Carlitos working on his backside tube ride style!

Lefts and rights were coming in all over the place and only Carlitos and this kid were out, having a blast.  A 12 year old kid getting some shade at one of the most powerful and consistent beach breaks in Nicaragua.

Later on, a couple other guys made it out including a bunch of cool little kids from Playa Gigante.  This is Riley from Fl finding himself into a nice green room.  Riley has been down with his father for a couple months, because he wants to become a good surfer.  He’s already surfing better and we can tell that, just looking this shot!

The barrel of the day belongs to Carlitos, the local kid that knows this spot better than any other local.  Shot 1, dropping in!

Our very good friend “El Codo” Lopez took a ride with us and he was also getting shacked all over the place.  Just think about how open the waves were, that even Codo got a couple nice ones.  Keep in mind that he is a big dude!
