Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, January 11, 2017

Hello amigos!! This is Parker welcoming you folks to the Humpday NSR surf report. The wind has died down so check out what’s going on at the beach!

Yes, you read that correctly: the wind is weaker today! The cold front that blasted the East Coast is moving away so less wind is being blown towards us. As the systems gets farther and farther away, our offshore winds will normalize (consistent offshores with occasional heavy gusts but not consistently heavy gusts).

Donnie Boy is frothing and still made it out. Even though the waves are small and it’s windy, there is always a surfable line (compared to our East Coast standards).

Normally, DB excels in double over conditions at the left. As for this trip, he knew it’s the offseason so it would small. We’ll spare the left of DB’s shredding until his next trip with Sheep!

Calm, casual, composed, and cobia. It’s awesome to see you again Mom, Dad, and Raleigh!! Thank you NSR for hooking it up with the board rentals. Thank you to Mike and Alejandra from Casa Cantamar for the gorgeous rental and amazing meal plan!

Liz was getting after it too. She was catching the white wash and riding it all the way to the beach. Now is a great time to do lessons and get out there.

With lighter winds, the swell is showing a little more. The waves should pick up another notch for Thursday and Friday. Too bad nobody wanted to get on it...

Lynn and Uncle Bill rolled up for a quick pre-scramble surf. You guys get the golf carts ready and I’ll bring the cold beers!!

I like long walks along the beach collecting shells and watching the sunset…… But only if you’re my Mom! She has a shell detector and always finds the most beautiful pieces.

Changing gears and checking out the shop, we have a lot going on. We’ve received new shipments of inventory so check it out! Alma is checking in too to show off the new Vissla jackets.

It’s tough to chose a favorite amongst our team but she’s definitely top three. You’ll find her working the store, helping with rentals, and helping you check out. She always has a smile and a good vibe to her (maybe that’s reflected in her name: Alma). Thank you Alma for always being down to do something fun for the report!! Vamos Gigantes!!! Si se puede si se puede!!!

Maycol and Marvin are two maintenance studs who can fix almost anything. We have new L2 shirts and Billabong made a special shirt for our home break. That gear has been flying off our shelves so come snag one before they’re gone!!

We’re stoked to have such a good relationship with Vissla. They are always seeing how the can help us, hook us up, and promote our brand. Vissla, we’re amped to have you too! Our clients are even more stoked because they gobble up their baggies within the first two weeks on the shelves!

And of course we have the classic NSR gear. Remember, to hit up our shop for all your merchandise, surfboard rentals, moto/scooter rentals, or general advice for the area. We’re open 9am to 5pm everyday so swing by and say hey! In the meantime, Hotsticks is going to finish up and go hit the golf course with Donnie Boy. Hasta luego primos!!
