Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, January 07, 2017

Hello NSR family and happy weekend!! This is Parker logging in to show you guys our morning shots. Click “read more” and see what he have!

There are a few leftovers from yesterday’s minor swell. I checked our favourite beach but it wasn’t looking great so we took photos at this one. Still some fun waves to be had!

And what better way to start out the weekend than a surf? The wind was minimal this morning and the tide was right so we knew it would be fun at one of the spots.

And the friendly faces are still inviting you to smash them. Surf here and master your rail game (and conserving speed throughout the wave)!

With the long interval, the waves were longer and rolling farther. Long period or short period, there’s always a good spot to surf in our development!!

Because when the conditions align, some spots can get really good. Add a couple more feet and chop a few seconds off the period and it would fire somewhere right around here…

El Buchon isn’t a picky man though. You give him a board and he’ll go surf where ever there is a wave.

This spot can be moody and difficult. If you study her and treat her nicely, she’ll return the gesture and provide a gem. If not, as a heads up, you might get frustrated.

I recommend getting your surfing in today. January and February are not the most consistent surf months so enjoy it while you can. Yes, there are always waves at this spot but swells are infrequent and the offshores can whip. However, that’s a great opportunity to travel throughout the country and see what else Nicaragua offers.

Or, surf and be happy. It’s tough not to when the a frames accommodate both of your friends.

Alright damas and caballeros, there is a little tide left so it’s time to slip out for a quick lunch time session. The waves are fun and it’s probably empty so why not head out? Entonces, nos vemos ahi primos!
