Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, January 03, 2012

We would like to say thank you to all our viewers and past guests for helping us give back to the locals here in Nicaragua. In 2010, we collected nearly 1,000 clothing items for the community of La Chureca and we came close to matching that number last year in school supply donations for the Santa Marta elementary school located along the entrance road to Hacienda Iguana. This year, we are happy to announce the 2012 NSR Spanish Book drive for the new library in Limon 2 (for those of you unfamiliar with this community, it is located immediately past Rancho Santana and only about 15-20 minutes from Hacienda Iguana). We have a donation box in our Hacienda Iguana office (books can also be dropped off at our San Juan del Sur location). If looking to give back, please add a book, or 2, or 3 or more to your packing list. Spanish books only please!

Welcome to our Tuesday report.  We've had Lucha here with a quick update from Playa Maderas.  The waves were still running pretty small, but super fun to ride on big boards.  The winds were a little strong offshore and the water nice and fresh.  Check out the lineup!

Did I say super fun on big boards?  This is the man, when it comes to big boards.  El Corage Hernandez with a sick hang five on his backside.

The waves were big enough to ride on shortboards as well.  Kevin is caught here with a late drop on this left hander.

If you were not too excited about the surfing, you always will find something else to do down here.  For example go for a horseback ride or read a book and get a nice tang!

A few of the local kids, that lives near the beach made it out and they were having fun.  Masequito Jr smacking the lip of this little nugget.

When I was talking about taking the big boars out, I was also talking about a nice SUP.  This guy made the right call, and he had a blast our there.  If you guys do not know, we have a couple of sweet SUPs that you can rent out from us.  Stop by any of our shops or make your reservation online.

The girls were loving the conditions we had today.  Here is caught this one on the last shot of the day with a solid ride.  Please, stay tuned with us!
