NSR
Playa Rosada is a fast, down-the-line left reef break that offers short barrel sections. This wave breaks over sharp, urchin covered, lava rocks. Needless to say, you don't want to put your foot down here. Protected from strong winds, this low tide wave is accessible either from staying inside Rancho Santana or making the long walk around the reef. Time your trip here when there is swell from the correct direction. ADVICE: You'll be tempted to surf at high-tide here because of the sharp bottom - don't. There are submerged rocks that are in a direct path of the wave. These rocks are dry at low tide and are easily avoided. Don't jump off the rocks. Paddle out from the center of the beach. WATCH OUT FOR: The current will sweep you N. on bigger days on the inside.
