Less than 2 months ago we were celebrating the opening of the brand new library in Limon 2, which was an area that experienced significant flooding from Tropical Storm Nate. Nearly 4 feet of water flooded this brand new building, wiping out all computers and over 3,000 Spanish library books that took a huge amount of effort to make their way to the small, rural community of Limon 2. This is an incredible loss for hundreds of families.

We thank CREA for the impact it has had on the community and we admire their huge efforts in providing storm relief. We want to ask everyone to consider contributing to CREA. The greatest need right now is Spanish children’s books. Here is a link to an Amazon wish list page where you can order books to bring down on your next trip OR if you can ship books within the next 7 days, we have a US address you can send these books to and an NSR member will bring these down in a couple weeks. Wish list link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/2XPKWYRGI559Q/ref=cm_sw_em_r_d_g__wf

Please email Heather at [email protected] for the shipping address and any other questions you may have regarding storm relief needs. Additionally, funds are being collected by CREA in order to replace all the computers that were lost in the storm.
