Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, September 11, 2017

Brian Scott

Hola and welcome to the Monday surf report. We had some incredibly onshore surf today. To my surprise, there were still a few people out surfing.  Lets check it out shall we.

Brian Scott

For as bad as the surf was, the few people out were ripping! Check it out, you can hardy even see the horizon line it was so windy and onshore.

Brian Scott

John John Springfield (the only local person surfing) made it down, nice little wrap buddy! You were getting a bunch of waves down on that sand bar you had all to yourself.

Brian Scott

This kind of surf reminds me of how bad it could get back in CA, where I’m originally from. Definitely don’t miss those days of bad waves.

Brian Scott

Fitting or ironic that this dude is riding a wave storm, in stormy waves.

Brian Scott

Take it to beach PT! If you’re old enough and know your history of iconic competitive surfs, you’ll totally get that line!

Brian Scott

This guys spray is kinda resemblant of a sailfish.

Brian Scott

Or in this case like this beautiful Dorado. Taking a quick little flashback to some sunnier days a little while back. Here, Kit and his Wife Lynda (a couple home owners here and longtime NSR friends) with son Cullen & girlfriend Erika showing off one of their beauties they caught this past Saturday on a guided surf trip with Surfari Charters. That’s a solid one u guys!!!

Brian Scott

Check out the Marlin jumping on some bait.

Brian Scott

What a beauty eh?

Brian Scott

Aaron and crew went out yesterday. Wait, banana’s on a boat, isn’t that bad luck??? Lets see how they did…

Brian Scott

Looks like the bananas didn’t keep the marlin away. Not sure bout the bad Ju Ju thing, but that fish is bananas though. Look at that thing!!

Brian Scott

That’s a nice size fish! In case you didn’t know, we now carry all the good SUBU gear in the shop here at NSR. Like that nice looking long sleeve Lance is sporting. This might be his new lucky shirt.

Brian Scott

Let us know if we can schedule you a charter with Surfari!! Here’s Jeff Soderlind and his dad Micky when they got after it this past Friday. Nice catch amigos!!

Brian Scott

Back over to Aaron’s crew… looks like they’ve been killing it out on the ocean.

Brian Scott

Of course, borracho fish are a lot easier to catch than non-borracho fish. See it’s always Toña time, which is why everyday is an epic day here in Nica!

Brian Scott

Lets check back over to see how the surf was looking.. looks like the sun popped her head out for a minute or two.

Brian Scott

Well, it was about 1 o’clock for this guys nicely timed off the top.

Brian Scott

Thanks for stopping by for the report today!! We have a pretty good bump in swell starting tomorrow and over the next couple of days, but it looks like the weather is supposed to stay like this for a little bit, but don’t fret, there are many other things, like fishing and a whole other assortment of things to do besides just surfing. So stop by the shop or get in touch with Parker (guest services and all around cool knowledgeable dude about what to do around here) so he can help get you dialed in with some extracurricular outdoor activities.
